Super PumaFlight Simulator TrainingAdvanced Puma, Super Puma and Cougar simulators are conveniently located and built to meet all civil and military requirements. CHC Flight Training operates two Eurocopter-approved simulators, in Stavanger, Norway, and at Emmen Air Force Base, near Zurich, Switzerland. NorwayThe Stavanger-based Training Centre houses the advanced full-flight simulator for AS 332L Super Puma and SA 330 Puma helicopters. Corresponding to FAA Level C standards, it provides six axis of motion and wide-screen night/dusk visual presentation. Operational since 1985, it has logged more than 80,000 hours. SwitzerlandIn service since 1994, the Emmen-based AS 332 Super Puma (Cougar) simulator is owned by the Swiss Air Force, with the CHC Training Centre as the commercial operator. It is built to meet military requirements with a detailed visual database covering Switzerland in day, dusk and night environments. The facilities enable mountain, confined area and sloping ground training. Tactical NOE, NVG, formation and long/short sling load training may be combined with malfunctions and emergency procedure training. The simulator is evaluated according to FAA and JAR STD Level D standards. Both facilities are located close to international airports. The lively urban areas in which they are situated, framed by the natural splendour of Norway and Switzerland, have much to offer visiting pilots and engineers. |
