EEA Helicopter Operations B.V., operating under the CHC brand name and using the CHC logo under license, is the leading helicopter service provider in the North Sea. EEA’s base at Den Helder, the Netherlands, is the major jumping-off point for the Dutch sector of the North Sea, and a critical part of EEA's success in this region. Originally established by Schreiner Aviation Group, Den Helder is home to an impressive array of aircraft. Its location on Holland's northwest seaboard minimizes flight times to offshore platforms, making it a convenient location for servicing the offshore industry.

EEA’s fleet in Den Helder, operated by EEA’s subsidiary CHC Helicopters Netherlands B.V, flies approximately 14,000 hours annually. In the Dutch offshore sector it is common to have a large number of platforms within a small area – this is true for EEA’s operations in Den Helder. In 2007, EEA’s fleet in Den Helder made more than 44.000 landings, with an average of just 17 minutes between take-off and landing.  

The staff operates out of a new terminal building, with workshops, a modern, spacious hangar, and offices on-site for maintenance and support.

Services Provided
EEA services the offshore oil and gas industry in this region, operating a fleet of offshore aircraft including the new AW139 and EC155, as well as Sikorsky S76 and Sikorsky S61N helicopters.

EEA operates for numerous customers in the Dutch sector of the North Sea, including: Total, Petro-Canada, Wintershall, GdFSUEZ, TAQA, Chevron, Venture and SUNCOR.

EEA is also responsible for the handling of all civil helicopters and fixed wing aircraft at Den Helder Airport.
