SQID is a web-based database that is an integral part of CHC's Safety Management System. It is used to manage, monitor, and report Safety & Quality information for CHC Global Operations, CHC Europe, and Heli-One. It has two primary functions:

  1. To manage Safety & Quality information by collecting occurrence reports, audits, and Safety & Quality data. The information entered becomes a pool of information between all CHC Business Units allowing reports and data comparisons, sharing of ideas and best practices, and trend analysis.

    • All CHC employees have access to the system to enter safety related reports with the assurance that each will be addressed (reports cannot be deleted).

    • Through easy access to the system and transparency of information the goal (Executive KPI or Key Performance Indicator) is to increase the number of reports submitted to the system. With an increase of information available to the managers and staff, the result will be a decrease in the severity of occurrences.

    • Collection of Key Performance data worldwide.

  1. A method of communication between Bases and Regional Managers through:

    • Depository of meeting minutes (Safety, ORB, etc.),

    • Weekly SITREPs (Situational Reports) from each base in Global Operations.

The SQID database offers an option of sending in a report anonymously. This ties in with CHC's Whistleblower Service, which is a confidential and anonymous concern hotline. For more information or to send an anonymous message, please click on the following link.
